Locals from across Bermondsey flocked to The Old Bank Pub in The Blue on Friday 28th January, for a spectacular fundraising evening in aid of Southwark Helping Hands Club. The event raised £1,083.00 which will further the education and development for club members.
The evening was a sell-out, with all the 64 horses being sponsored well before the night. ‘Race goers’ were invited to place £1 bets on a series of horse races shown on the pub’s TV screen. Steve Keenan, Trustee at Southwark Helping Hands Club, said: “A huge ‘thank you’ to everyone who got behind the event and to Moss, the landlord of the Old Bank for hosting it. The charity is delighted with the level of support that it continues to receive in the community and this specific fundraising event was an occasion to remember.” The evening was the first of our fundraising events, we look forward to holding many more events in 2022. We are delighted to be running a Race Night on Friday 28th January 2022, hosted by Moss at The Old Bank Bar & Carvery, 239 Southwark Park Rd, Bermondsey, London SE16 3TT.
